Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has praised the work Dani Olmo did on his debut in the Blaugrana shirt.

Madrid.- Barcelona coach Hansi Flick highlighted the importance of Dani Olmo on the day of his debut in helping them win a 2-1 comeback at the Estadio de Vallecas against Rayo Vallecano. He admitted that “it’s been a long time since he scored” with his new club and praised him by pointing out that he made “the difference.”

“He had been trying to score goals for Barcelona for a long time. His arrival gave us more control of the ball, he combined well with his teammates and played very well. He also scored. He made the difference in the second half,” he acknowledged at a press conference in Vallecas.

Flick was self-critical of his team’s performance in the first half, saying that “the first few minutes were not good because of the pressure, the combination,” and he highlighted his players’ reaction in the second half.

“We deserved the three points. In the second half we had more control of the ball and we combined better. We knew that we would have to suffer in Vallecas. You only have to look at the results of recent years. The important thing is that we got another three points,” he said.

“We defended well, but not perfectly, in the first half. Rayo have fast players who hurt us. In the second half we improved a lot. The bad thing is that Marc Bernal has been injured and we have to see how serious it is. He is not well after having played a fantastic game at 17 years old. We have to wait for the tests tomorrow,” he concluded.
