For the first year since the start of his career, Adrien Rabiot has not completed any collective recovery or summer preparation after Euro 2024. At the end of his contract after five years of good and loyal service to Juventus, the French midfielder is still, this Wednesday, September 4, looking for a project.
It remains to be seen whether the sporting or financial aspect is more important in the mind of the former Parisian. According to Corriere dello Sport, Adrien Rabiot has a staggering offer on the table, estimated at 20 million euros per year. The issuer is none other than the Saudi club Al-Nassr, the flagship team of the local championship.
According to the Italian colleagues, the negotiations are being led by Véronique Rabiot, mother and agent of the French international. It is not known at this stage whether the player is attracted by this prospect. A major figure at Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo is in any case himself putting pressure on his former teammate to join him in Riyadh.
A future in Blue preserved?
Also according to Corriere dello Sport, the ceiling on the number of foreign players per team, set at ten since December, could be one of the sticking points in the negotiations. An annual exemption is not to be excluded to bring in the Frenchman.
In Saudi Arabia, Adrien Rabiot would enjoy a lucrative contract without necessarily giving up the French team. The case of N’Golo Kanté proves it since the Al-Itthad midfielder was called up to Euro 2024 and then for the next matches of the Blues.
If Adrien Rabiot ends up opting for a European club, he will however not be able to play in the first phase of the European Cups. The deadline for submitting the lists was set for Tuesday, September 3, at midnight.
