In the workplace, a toxic environment can take many forms. It can be an incompetent manager or boss, or even inactive in the face of problematic situations. We can put forward attempts at intimidation or threats inducing constant stress. Conflicts between employees within a team are also a significant factor in a toxic work climate. The latter can cause psychosocial risks, declining mental health, or even burnout syndrome, hence the importance of knowing how to distinguish the warning signs of a toxic work environment.

A toxic work environment can be identified by the lack of enthusiasm of collaborators or employees. There is no sense of belonging to the company, its activity or its values. We can also put forward a failing communication or one that is limited to a usual circle of employees. This situation can concern a hierarchical executive, such as the manager, or the members of a team. The absence of transversality within a service or between different departments often leads to a toxic work climate. This also applies to the withholding of information.
