UNITED STATES – The vagueness gives way to facts. The FBI announced this Sunday, September 15 during a press conference that it had opened an investigation for “attempted assassination” against Donald Trump, after shots were heard near him while he was playing golf in Florida. Here is what we know.

• What are the facts?
Early this afternoon on the east coast of the United States, shots were fired near Donald Trump’s golf club in Florida. One person was arrested for the purposes of the investigation and a weapon was found, reported the New York Timesciting local police officials.
It took several minutes to find out what had happened, and to find out whether the 78-year-old former president, who is running again for president, was the target of the shots. The local press suggested for a while that it could have been an argument between two people.
• Safe and sound
Very quickly, Donald Trump’s campaign team as well as the Secret Service, responsible for protecting presidents, former presidents and leading political figures, clarified that the billionaire was “safe and sound”.

The shootings come about fifty days before the US presidential election, which will see Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris face off. It is also almost two months to the day after the attempted assassination of the former president at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.
Images of Donald Trump, blood running down his face and his fist raised, went around the world and disrupted the campaign for the November 5 election.
