A balloon, for a rebound that everyone hopes favorable. For two months, prison of Perpignan prison, supervisors, players and coaches of the USAP mixed. A unique project in France designed to limit, avoid any recurrence.
We prepare them for this outing by building the usual tools that are the CV or redefine the professional project and we use the sport component to relearn the expected skills in business.
Régis Peyronnet, USAP training manager in charge of the project
And the coach continues by explaining that the USAP will continue to support participants when they released the prison thanks to the partnerships established by the Catalan rugby club with more than 500 companies. “We will be able to direct them to business leaders sensitive to their career and this project”.
Thanks to them, I managed to make a network for work. It's a boost.
Sébastien, detained in Perpignan prison
-To be part of this program, detainees must come from Perpignan, close to the exit or sentenced to short sentences. Beyond the reintegration project, “from the bars to the posts”, it is also a story of heart and meeting. The detainees were even surprised to exchange some bullets with Théo Forner and Jean-Pascal Barraque, two Olympic champions of seven rugby.
We meet the players, we see the medals. There are no words. It's human.
Ronald, detained in Perpignan prison
Seize the opportunity given to him to “Return to good bases”Ronald feels grateful for this time shared with the members of the USAP, “a new start not to come back here”.
I don't know their experiences, their past. They may not have the same benchmarks as us. A second chance is good.
Jean-Pascal Barraque, USAP player and Olympic rugby champion at 7
The involvement of supervisors from the penitentiary center reinforces the human aspect of the project. “From bars to posts”, a whole symbol for an operation which should be renewed during this year 2025.
