UBB heads to Paris hoping to continue its incredible run of success. She will be able to count on the return of Romain Buros.
It’s a period that the Bordeaux-Bègles Union loves. Last season, Yannick Bru's players managed to string together eight wins between November 25 and January 14, in all competitions. Currently, they are on a series of six victories since November 23 when they took the road to Paris for the last Top 14 match before the start of a new international period. A period always feared for the UBB which therefore does not want to miss this last opportunity to establish its place at the top of the ranking since the objective of finishing in the first two places in the ranking is clearly stated. “ In the first thirteen matches, we did the best we could with a full card at Chaban and positive results away.”recognized manager Yannick Bru when taking stock of the first leg. “We made very few missteps, apart from this last penalty from Léo Berdeu in Lyon which took away the victory and this red card in La Rochelle which did not allow us to leave with anything, but we took points everywhere otherwise. We are lucky to have a slightly denser squad in depth. It is important that the whole squad passes the baton between each match with always points in the standings. . But that doesn't guarantee anything. not at the time of bravos but only of encouragement.”
Buros returns
The Bordeaux-Bègles Union is also ready for returns. The infirmary is starting to empty, particularly at the back lines since Pablo Uberti and Nans Ducuing are able to resume competition. This is also the case for Romain Buros, who has not played since his first selection with the French XV, last November 16 against New Zealand. What was supposed to be just a simple crutch ultimately kept him away from the field for fifty days, certainly due to an incorrect diagnosis during the days preceding the match against Argentina for which he had decided to forfeit. Union Bordeaux-Bègles therefore finds one of its senior players for this trip, with the hope of securing a seventh victory in a row.
