Ben Condon, Australian player who was to join Leigh for the 2025 season, will not wear the club’s colors due to medical reasons.
Via a press release, Leigh announced that the Australian pillar, signed for next season, will ultimately not join the English club because he failed a medical assessment.
It is detailed that the medical team carried out an assessment of his medical file and identified an accident that the 24-year-old had that resulted in injuries that could prevent the player from performing this season. Chris Chester, Head of Rugby, spoke in the club statement:
It’s a huge blow to our preparation for next season to lose a signing of Ben’s quality. Part of any signing involves a reasonable vetting time and unfortunately, after the unfortunate accident that Ben was involved in, we were unable to complete the signing. Ben is a very good guy and we wish him good luck.
The transfer was therefore cancelled, but Leigh quickly got back on his feet by signing Alec Tuitavake from the St George Illawarra Dragons.
