This weekend, Matthieu Jalibert announced that he was extending his contract with UBB. The hot issue of the moment has therefore been resolved and now, it is on the side that things are moving. The Hérault club would be on the verge of announcing two signings which risk getting people talking: those of Mohamed Haouas and Bastien Chalureau.

After flirting with relegation in Pro D2 last season, the MHR had managed to stay in Top 14. Currently 9th, the Héraultais will still have to fight for their survival in the elite this season. On the transfer side, the Montpellier club has resolved two hot issues internally. After the announcement of the extension of Matthieu Jalibert, here are two other announcements which should get people talking.

Chalureau extends to MHR

Sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence for assault (the racist nature having not been accepted), Bastien Chalureau extended his contract with the MHR. Courted by the UBB et Provence the second line chose to stay in Hérault. “ The MHR is proud to formalize the contract extension of its second line Bastien Chalureau. After joining the MHR in 2020 as a medical joker, Bastien Chalureau chose to extend the adventure with the club for 2 additional seasons. Well done Bastien! », wrote the MHR in a press release.

It’s imminent for Haouas

According to information from Rugby Rama, Mohamed Haouas should follow. Also convicted by the courts, for “aggravated violence» and “domestic violence» this time, the right pillar will extend its lease for two years. Two good blows for the MHR from a sporting point of view but as for the rest, the Montpellier club will return. These two decisions are likely to cause a lot of ink to flow in the weeks to come. To be continued.
