“I was looking forward to seeing my friends again and now that they’re back, I find it really fun,” says a young man who is entering fifth grade.

Friends, art class, gym class or science class, every student has their own reason for looking forward to going back to school.

But many parents are worried about whether their child will have one or more teachers this year.

The general director of the Montreal School Services Centre, Isabelle Gélinas, wants to be reassuring for those who attend schools in her territory.

“For primary and secondary school students, 97% of positions are filled and 93% of these positions are occupied by people who are legally qualified,” she said in an interview with LCN.
