On October 16, 2023, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Tunisian Abdesalem Lassoued opened fire on a taxi near Sainctelette square, taking the lives of two of the passengers – Swedish supporters who came to support their national football team that met this evening- There Belgium, at the King Baudouin stadium. A third passenger, a Swedish aged about 70, had been seriously injured in the vehicle. The assailant had been shot down the next day by the police.
