While the die seemed cast in favor of the RSB, the OCS was active in the last quarter of an hour to seek a draw, relying mainly on the aerial play of the Malian Abdoulaye Diarra. The latter first reduced the score in the 77th minute with a nice header, before surprising the locals a second time with a header (90th+2) from a corner. This draw therefore kept RS Berkane in pole position, but with only three points ahead of the Renaissance of Zemamra, who also benefited from another gift from the CODM. Indeed, the club from the spiritual capital managed to hold on to AS FAR (2-2), a major candidate for second place occupied by RCAZ.

The RSB and the AS FAR caught in the same trap

Like the RSB, the Military started the match in the best way, unlocking the counter in the 4th minute of play thanks to Zakaria Ajoughlal, who recovered the ball on the halfway line before crucifying the goalkeeper. In the second half, the Congolese Joel Beya increased the score after a good effort from Amine Zouhzouh on the axis (60th). Caught off guard, the locals only showed up in the 88th minute, with a goal from Yassine Senhaji. The CODM then scored a second goal refused by the referee. Tough, the Meknes club did not give up and managed to equalize in the 90th minute, a goal from the young Senegalese striker Sheikh Omar Faye. After Thursday’s result, AS FAR is fifth in the general table (31 pts), six lengths behind Zemamra’s Renaissance. The Military will have to win their two late matches, Sunday and Thursday, to join the RCAZ in second position.

The last meeting played on Thursday saw Raja and Ittihad of Tangier share the points at the Larbi Zaouli stadium in Casablanca (1-1). After a scoreless first half, the Club du Détroit broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, thanks to Zakaria El Bakkali who benefited from an excellent service from Mouhcine Metouali, the legendary former captain of the Greens. Ittihad of Tangier was preparing to celebrate its third victory in a row when Zakaria Baâdi restored parity in the 90th + 4, at the conclusion of a cross from Youssef Bellaâmri. Following this result, Raja occupies 8th position in the ranking with 24 pts, one point ahead of its opponent on Thursday (IRT 9th with 23 pts). On Sunday, the Detroit club will have to do well against the leader, the Renaissance of Berkane, while Raja will travel to the Fath of Rabat. Rabie Hraimate’s teammates will welcome Difaâ Hassani from El Jadida. These Day 18 updates will be followed by another series next Thursday, to complete the Day 19 picture.
