The first 2025 Superbike test is officially completed. Unlike the first day in which the teams and the pilots were able to work on the dry, today it pleased Jerez and that had a significant impact on the planned work programs. Some teams have chosen not to ride, others have done so for half a day. Collection of information under these conditions can still be useful in a season where everything can always happen.

Superbike test, Jerez results: Rea in front of the wet

The best time of the day was made by Jonathan Rea on the Yamaha R1. The six -time world champion stopped the time in 1'53 ″ 058. With the two motorcycles, he completed a total of 40 laps. For him, it was important to also run on the wet, a condition in which he hopes to be able to make the difference when the opportunity arises.

Second for Xavi Vierge, From the Honda team, 608 thousandths of a second from REA. Virtual podium of the day completed by the rookie Yari montella Barni Spark Racing Team, 920 thousandths from the summit. It was also important for him to test himself on a wet track: being his debut in the category, he must not pilot his Ducati Panigale V4 R only on the dry. Behind him another Italian, Axel Bassani on the Bimota KB998. Likewise in his case, half a day of useful work, since he had never led the new motorcycle under these conditions.

Top 5 closed by Scott Reddingsurprise of day 1 with the ducati of the MGM Bonovo team. The British pilot is particularly galvanized by his return to the Panigale V4 R and has already mentioned his big goal for 2025: fighting for the World Superbike title. Certainly ambitious, maybe too much. Andrea Locatelli (Pata yamaha) et Garrett rolled (Kawasaki) are also one of the regular pilots who drove today in Jerez, where there were obviously also test pilots in action.

The best absolute time of the two days of Superbike tests remains that of Nicolò Bulegawhich recorded for a time of 1,38 ″ 731 Wednesday. Today, the Aruba Racing Ducati team has taken the track either with it or with Alvaro Bautista. The next test is scheduled for February 28 and 29 in Portimao, where we should also review Soil razgatlioglu (BMW) et Iker Lecuona (Honda) in action. The two men did not drive in Jerez due to injuries suffered during their respective training.
