It was following the loss of her grandfather that Ariel Neo had the idea for this film. Between fiction, documentary and musical comedy, the Briécoise director offers, with “The Rain Birds”, an original and luminous work exploring the themes of mourning and life. The self-taught artist, who takes on technical and financial challenges, has dived with his actors into diving pits, filmed in the open sea in the waters of Molène Island, and even installed a grand piano underwater…

Among the speakers in the film, we will note the appearances of the dancer and choreographer Sofiane Chalal and the participation of the philosopher André Comte-Sponville. The birds once again hold a prime place. The director has been working for several years with bird catcher Yvan Gilbert. “We will follow the adventures of doves, inseparable birds but also a macaw…”, who will also be present, this Friday January 24, 2025, at 8 p.m., during this preview session in Cinéville (before its release national on March 26). “The goal is for the viewer to be surprised. From this film, we emerge with a peaceful vision of life,” underlines Ariel Néo.
