Anne was the victim of a love scam. The crooks took 830,000 euros from him. This is the largest amount ever stolen in this type of business.
The story told by Anne, 53, in the Sept à Huit show on Sunday January 12 is hardly believable. The fifty-year-old was the victim of a love scam, a scam which, although known, continues to claim many victims.
In total, 830,000 euros were taken from him via the internet over a year and a half. The scammers contacted her in February 2023, when she had just registered on Instagram to post her vacation photos. They first pose as Brad Pitt’s mother, then as the American actor himself. “Hello Anne, my mother told me a lot about you. I would like to know more…” wrote the fake Brad Pitt to her. According to the story reported by TF1, the scammer will continue the exchanges with more intimate conversations.
While her relationship has been failing for two years and she is married to a millionaire entrepreneur, 19 years her senior, Anne ends up divorcing and receives a compensatory benefit of 775,000 euros.
For his part, the crook continued to coax him. Between sweet words, poems, fake passports and video montages based on artificial intelligence, the interior decorator ends up giving in. She first pays 9,000 euros for so-called “customs duties” which she had to pay to receive luxury gifts that “Brad Pitt” would have sent her. She will never see the color of it.
So on… She will pay the majority of the sum to advance the medical expenses of the actor, whose accounts were blocked because of the trial against Angelina Jolie, and who was suffering from “kidney cancer”. Until then, all exchanges were done by email or on social networks. Anne also had to make payments to an account in Türkiye.

“Whenever I had doubts, he was able to take my doubts away,” she said. Her own daughter, who did not believe this story, tried to reason with her, in vain. Devastated by this experience, Anne is now staying with a friend. She no longer has a home and had to sell all her furniture. He only has “40,000 euros left in savings”. She attempted suicide three times and launched an online fundraiser to finance her legal fees.
The amount that the crooks took from him, 830,000 euros, is the largest ever stolen in this type of business. According to the television channel, an investigation has just been opened. It is carried out by a specialized brigade of the judicial police.
