In partnership with Balzac éditions in France, the publishing house La Croisée des Chemins announces the publication of Mona Azzam’s novel, “In the fraternity of my brothers”, within its Sembura collection. It must be said that this novel deals with the theme of slavery.
“No doubt because this is one of the darkest pages, not only in the history of black Africa, but above all and above all in the history of humanity, in its most dark dehumanization. No doubt also because we must convince ourselves, and convince present and future generations, that the statement “one day everything will be fine” is not a utopia. And that we must work so that it guides us,” explains the publisher. To note, Mona Azzam was born in the bush in Ivory Coast. After a childhood and adolescence spent between Ivory Coast and Senegal, she settled in Beirut for training and literature teaching missions. At the same time, she is interested in various fields such as philosophy, psychology and language sciences. She is currently a professor (modern literature) in Montpellier. In October 2024, she was awarded the bronze medal by the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters.
