The government representative presented significant progress in supporting widowed women in Morocco. Thanks to government initiatives, the number of widows receiving assistance increased from less than 70,000 to more than 400,000. The government also planned to increase financial benefits for the children of widows, from 350 to 375 DH per child this year, and reaching 400 DH the following year.
In addition, minimum family assistance has been introduced, allowing families to receive up to 1,200 dirhams depending on the number of children. This program aims to improve the quality of life of families headed by widows and reduce insecurity. For the head of government, increases in family allowances and financial support represent important steps towards a more equitable society.
