Are you waiting for the Switch 2? Missed… Instead, it’s Xbox which draws an announcement: the Microsoft brand will soon broadcast a new DeveloperDirect, with information on highly anticipated games.
No, it’s still not the time to officially discover the Switch 2, but dry your tears, we still have good news… It’s happening on the Xbox side: Microsoft has just announced a new DeveloperDirectits format where the American giant visits several of its studios – but not only – around the world, with new information and images. See you this time on Thursday January 23, in precisely two weeks, at 7 p.m. (French time). We already know which games will be presented, and that’s exciting. The announcements will concern PC, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass games.

Three headliners
As Xbox explains on its official website, South of Midnight, DOOM: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be the stars of this edition. The first is an action-adventure game developed by the studio Compulsion Games (We Happy Few), whose stop-motion aesthetic and inspirations from the South of the United States have already caught our eye. The second is obviously the new episode of the first-person action game from id Software, with, in a deliciously medieval atmosphere, chainsaw shields, big castles, big metal riffs, and – as tradition dictates – big monsters. Finally, last but not leastObscure: Expedition 33, the French favorite RPG from Sandfall Interactive, quickly becoming one of the most anticipated games of this year. Three projects which are vaguely announced for 2025 and which will be released day one in Game Pass. THE DeveloperDirect will undoubtedly be an opportunity to obtain a precise date!
A little surprise for the road
But that’s not all. As the obvious question mark on the show’s thumbnail suggests, another guest will be present on January 23. “We will visit a surprise location to see another studio’s newest game”writes Xbox on its official website. Come on, all bets are on! Will it be the new game from Double Fine (Broken Age, Psychonauts 2) or the famous remake of Oblivion, which has been the subject of persistent rumors for weeks?
