Chopper attack
On September 25, 2020, in the middle of the trial of the attacks which decimated the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo, a man went to the former premises of the satirical editorial staff, located rue Nicolas-Appert in the 11th arrondissement. The individual then attacked two people with a chopper. The latter worked for a press agency.
Shocked by Charlie Hebdo caricatures
Both victims were seriously injured during the attack. The assailant was subdued and arrested by the police. The latter, of Pakistani origin, said he was “shocked” by the publication of caricatures of Mohammed in the columns of Charlie Hebdo on the occasion of the opening of the trial for the January 2015 attacks. He was unaware that the editorial staff had changed address when it took action.
