Did you know that tomorrow morning, the Canadian could be one point away from the playoffs? However, this is indeed the case.
While the CH will play in Chicago this evening, it is clear that there is a possibility of seeing the Flannel climb to 39 points in 38 games. For that, obviously, a victory would be necessary.
And in such a case, the Canadian could have a chance of being one point away from the playoffs.
Note that this evening, in addition to the CH, three Eastern teams will be in action: the Panthers, the Penguins and the Senators. The Panthers don’t play in the league of Martin St-Louis’ men, obviously.
To be within one point of the playoffs tomorrow morning, CH must win, the Senators must stay at 40 points and the Penguins must not win.
To prepare for tonight’s game, there will be no practice (this is not because Dave Cameron is arriving behind the CH bench) and only the extras will skate at 12:30 p.m., Quebec time.
We will monitor whether David Savard will be able to play, he who missed the end of yesterday’s practice.
Note that Samuel Montembeault will play this evening. We can think that CH wants to secure the two points this evening, that the club wants to test Jakub Dobes tomorrow in Denver and that the Quebecer will be more rested for Monday’s match at home against Vancouver.
And we can also think, as we said, that CH wants to get closer to the series this evening. #DanceLeMix
If the Canadian is close to the playoffs on the sidelines of the deadline (which is the objective of the season, in fact), we might wonder what management will do on the transaction market.
But it’s the players’ job to put the club in this position. And it must continue this evening.
