The firefighters were alerted around 11 a.m. A man fell from a motorbike in a wood in the town on the Autricourt route after losing control.
The victim was a 50-year-old man from the small town of 400 inhabitants. Emergency services attempted to resuscitate the victim. The Dragon 25 helicopter was dispatched to the scene to evacuate the injured man. Unfortunately, the man died at the scene as a result of the shock. It was another motorcyclist who was out with him who raised the alarm according to the firefighters.
This witness to the tragedy will be interviewed by the gendarmes. An investigation has been opened to determine the precise causes of the accident which left a family in mourning a few hours after New Year's Eve. An autopsy will also be carried out.
