The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is currently leading a vast operation across Quebec in connection with the drug war. Numerous searches and arrests were made and an assessment will be made during a press briefing scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
“There are searches under investigation in several regions in connection with the conflict over royalties,” confirms spokesperson Béatrice Dorsainville of the SQ, adding that the results of this vast operation will be revealed later.
According to our information, numerous strikes took place in the east of the province, in Saguenay, Trois-Rivières, Sept-Îles and in the greater Quebec region, in particular.
This major operation targets several groups involved in various conflicts linked to the control of drug trafficking.
Search in Cap-Santé
The provincial police force also published a photo of a search in progress on Chemin du Roy in Cap-Santé, in the National Capital, on its X account.
“#Operation in progress at Cap-Santé. The police are currently carrying out searches in relation to armed violence as part of a sweep in connection with the royalties dispute,” we can read.
The address searched in Cap-Santé was the scene of an altercation which left one person injured last June when people attempted to force their way into a residence. This event was linked to organized crime and no one had been arrested in connection with this story.
