It was barely 6 a.m. when General Igor Kirillov left his home, located on a main Moscow boulevard, to go with his adjutant to the Ministry of Defense. He was to hold a press conference there, perhaps to denounce once again the evil plans of the Americans and their “Ukrainian proxies” in terms of bacteriological, chemical and nuclear warfare – this was his specialty within Defense Russian. A few steps in the dirty snow separated the two men from the black limousine waiting for them at the edge of the sidewalk, and they certainly did not notice the presence of a self-service electric scooter left at the foot of the building, like so many others in Moscow. But this one was trapped. The explosion killed both men instantly. The scene, which lasts only a few seconds, was duly filmed by a hidden camera in a rental car parked nearby by the organizers of this attack, visibly prepared with unprecedented attention to detail.
Later in the morning, an anonymous source within one of the Ukrainian special services, the SBU, responsible for internal security, confirmed what already seemed obvious to all of Moscow. This spectacular assassination was indeed their work, because General Igor Kirillov was a “war criminal” and therefore a “perfectly legitimate target”, according to the SBU. A rare claim in the shadow war that the Ukrainian special services have been waging for almost three years against the Russian occupier, not hesitating to strike right into the heart of the Russian capital. And which is probably explained by the profile of the victim.
