American President-elect Donald Trump, who often takes pleasure in mocking Canada’s leaders, did not miss the opportunity to add more on the subject of the resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.

“The great state of Canada is stunned by the resignation or dismissal of the Minister of Finance by Governor Justin Trudeau,” Mr. Trump had fun reacting on his social network, Truth Social, Monday evening.

“His behavior was completely toxic and not at all conducive to making good deals for the very unfortunate citizens of Canada. No one will miss her!” commented the Republican billionaire.

Earlier, Donald Trump called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a “governor” after he joked during a dinner at his Mar-a-Lago residence about attaching Canada as 51e State to its southern neighbor.

“I look forward to seeing the Governor again soon so we can continue our in-depth discussions on tariffs and trade, the results of which will be truly spectacular for all!” Mr. Trump joked on his social network on December 10.

During this dinner which caused waves, Mr. Trudeau expressed his apprehensions regarding Mr. Trump’s threat to increase customs tariffs on Canadian exports to the United States by 25%.
