As in the last three editions, the Prix de Villers-Cotterêts, contested on the 2,100 m course of the main track with a start given using the autostart, went to a foreign competitor. Well known in France, Éric Bondo, mentor ofAbano Aswinner of the 2003 Prix d’Amérique, saw his two residents cross the post in the first two places but Sidney Celeber (n° 14) was deprived of first place after investigation. As in 2022 with Enjoy The Game, the Danish coach was able to count on Gabriele Gelormini to secure the victory, through appeal (No. 3) this time. Despite a final turn tackled in the second layer, the 6-year-old male showed himself to be the strongest to finish, making the Italian driver say: “His trainer asked me to only do the last kilometer, and he was right. The time is good for this friendly horse who can also do well over long distances. »
Excellent finisher, In and Vrie (n° 5), led by Mathieu Mottier, finally took second place at the expense of Ninepoints Lasse (n° 13), forced to evolve for a certain time in third layer. Behind the first three, Fetlock Joint (No. 10) and Fighter Simoni (n° 7), who attacked from afar, finished fourth and fifth respectively.
