In Senegal, of the 380 media outlets registered on the Déclaration Médias Sénégal (DMS) platform, only 112 are in compliance with the provisions of the press code. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister responsible for Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, Alioune Sall.
According to him, these are distributed as follows: 10 televisions, 14 written press outlets, 17 radios, 11 community radios, 6 Web TVs and 54 online press sites or platforms.
It should be noted, according to supervisory data, that as of November 29, 2024, on the list of media declared on the DMS platform, there were 28 radio stations, 50 written press outlets, 21 television channels, 40 Web TV, 165 online press sites and 76 community radio stations. The minister gave additional time, until Friday December 6, 2024, to the media whose files have not yet been validated to contact the supervisory services in order to find out the reasons for the rejection of their files and, if necessary, to make the necessary corrections to comply with the law. After this deadline, he clarified that no appeal will be accepted.
