The approximately 10,000 spectators, many of whom arrived later than expected at their seats due to a service interruption on the orange line of the metro, were already well in their voices and on the tips of their feet when the captain was last female hockey player presented.

Laura Stacey, Erin Ambrose, Kristin O’Neill, as well as Quebecers Ann-Renée Desbiens, Alexandra Labelle and Catherine Dubois also received prolonged ovations. Labelle couldn’t ask for better for his first game with Montreal, after playing a season in New York.

And for Dubois, we felt that she had showered herself with love, sincerely thanking the crowd. Having missed the majority of training camp due to illness, Dubois did not face the Ottawa Charge.

Reconnaissance

Regarding the members making up the Victory team, many fans have not forgotten that Noémie Marin and Emmanuelle Blais were pioneers with the Stars and the Montreal Canadiennes.

Head coach Kori Cheverie and general director Danièle Sauvageau were also warmly applauded.
