These talks, held in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, were an opportunity to salute the exemplary bonds of friendship which unite the two countries and which have been strengthened since the two visits made by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, to the Republic of Guinea in 2014 and 2017, indicates a press release from the Department of the Head of Government. On this occasion, Mr. Akhannouch affirmed that Morocco, in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines, remains willing to support the Republic of Guinea in achieving sustainable and global economic and social development, particularly in terms of the development of the sectors of the agriculture, maritime fishing, health and industry.

In this regard, he praised the close cooperation which prevails with the Republic of Guinea and which underlies the bonds of fraternity, friendship and solidarity uniting the two peoples.

These talks were also an opportunity to welcome the position of the Republic of Guinea regarding Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces, Guinea having opened a consulate general in Dakhla in January 2020, in straight line of the constant positions of the Republic of Guinea regarding the fictitious regional dispute around the Moroccan Sahara.

The two officials also discussed the mechanisms capable of developing bilateral economic relations, within the framework of a model partnership strategy for South-South cooperation within the African continent, in the continuity of the state visits carried out by HM the King in several friendly countries on the continent, and following the signing of a joint communiqué between the governments of the two countries in May 2023 in Rabat and the holding, in July 2023 in Dakhla, of the 7th session of the Commission mixed Morocco–Guinea.
