Donald Trump plans to eliminate subsidies on the electric vehicle market, and contrary to what one might think, his new friend Elon Musk is happy about it. For him, this maneuver remains a victory for Tesla.

More than billions

The alliance of two of the richest men in the world continues to grow stronger. After a failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump, Elon Musk became a sort of right-hand man for the new future president of the United States. A few hours after the attack, the CEO of Tesla released the Tweet that set the machine in motion: “I completely side with President Trump, and wish him a speedy recovery.”

He appeared for the first time alongside the future president at a rally in Pennsylvania, with his black MAGA (make America great again) cap on the rock. If some still had doubts about his allegiance to Donald Trump, after this event, it was obvious that Elon Musk was taking this presidential campaign very seriously. And for good reason, since he has a lot to gain from it.

We learned today that the new president could give a huge gift to his billionaire fan, just to make it even richer. And yes, it’s possible. California Governor Gavin Newsom has reportedly decided not to include Tesla among the companies to be subsidized in his state if Donald Trump succeeds in getting rid of subsidies in the electric vehicle market, something he says he wants to do.

It remains a victory for Tesla

Naturally, the Californian governor’s decision does not please Elon Musk, who did not fail to make his dissatisfaction known on X (formerly Twitter): “While Tesla is the only company to build its electric vehicles in California! It’s crazy.”

That’s what he says, but the most interesting thing is that he recently explained that he was in favor of no more subsidies in the electric vehicle market, and that’s when he goes in the direction of his new friend : “Remove subsidies. It’s still a victory for Tesla.”

He thinks that the absence of subsidies on electric vehicles would be a disaster for his competitorsand that Tesla can still get by without help from the Californian government. He is for ending subsidies, even if that end increases the price of Tesla electric cars for American buyers. And this end of subsidies for all is Donald Trump who wants to bring it.
