Launched at the start of the year, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the most powerful smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer. Fortunately, the very embodiment of excess can also be the subject of a special offer, and that's exactly what is currently on offer during Black Friday, with a promotion that brings down the price of this very high-end device from 1,499 euros to 969 euros at Boulanger.

To compete with the heavyweights of the smartphone world, Samsung and Apple, Xiaomi has spared no expense. With its exceptional performance, beautiful screen and excellent photo capabilities, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is one of the most powerful devices you can slip into a pocket. However, such technical characteristics come with a high price which is fortunately accompanied by a discount of more than 500 euros for the Black Friday period.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra: a smartphone that has very good arguments to make

  • Top performance thanks to the presence of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 16 GB of RAM
  • A very good camera benefiting from Leica's expertise
  • A 6.73-inch OLED screen capable of offering exceptional rendering

Instead of 1,499 euros at its launch, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is currently on sale at 969 euros at Boulanger.

The best Xiaomi has to offer

With its recent flagship, the Chinese manufacturer has not done half-measures. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, one of the best processors available on smartphones, and 16 GB of RAM, which is more than enough for all uses. The same goes for storage space, since the device comes with 512 GB of storage, enough to postpone sorting photos and documents for a very long time. On the screen side, we are in the presence of a 6.73-inch OLED panel which impresses, even if questionable factory settings require you to take a look at the settings to unlock its full potential.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra's 5,000 mAh battery will allow it to last a whole day without needing to be recharged. In the worst case, its 90 watt charger allows you to go from 0 to 50% in almost 20 minutes, and to reach 100% in less than 50 minutes. A good score, difficult to achieve with all manufacturers. To complete the list of technical specifications, the device is equipped with 4G and 5G chips, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, as well as the usual NFC, GPS and Bluetooth 5.4. On the other hand, there is no eSIM, so you will only have to rely on the two nano-SIM ports.

Photography, the great strong point of the Xiamo 14 Ultra

Those who are used to devices from the Chinese manufacturer will not be disoriented: the design of the 14 Ultra is close to that of its predecessor, the 13 Ultra. If its faux leather back and its careful finish deserve to be highlighted, the most striking aspect of the device is its very prominent camera block. Fortunately, it's not free, since it houses four sensors of 50 Mpx each, accompanied by four lenses from Leica, ranging from ultra-wide angle to x5 telephoto lens. All this offers great versatility in photography, with convincing results in both high and low light.

Finally, on the operating system side, Xiaomi has opted for HyperOS, its new version based on Android. Be careful though, behind its aesthetics close to that of iOS, the interface is riddled with spam that can spoil the experience until you get rid of it. Once this step has been completed, users will be able to benefit from 4 years of major updates, enough to integrate AI features that are still missing from the device.
