He announced that he would impose these tariffs on Canada and Mexico to force them to control the entry of illegal migrants and drugs into American soil, believing that the two neighbors of the United States had all the tools in hand to put an end to to these long-standing problems.
He said it was time for Canada and Mexico to pay a high price for their failure to secure their borders.
