The Minister of Health and Social Action, Doctor Ibrahima Sy, called on Tuesday for the mobilization of all stakeholders to achieve the objective of eliminating HIV AIDS in 2030.
“The goal of eliminating AIDS by 2030 requires collective mobilization of all stakeholders: government, NGOs, technical and financial partners, researchers, health professionals, and communities,” declared Ibrahima Sy.
The Minister of Health and Social Action chaired the opening ceremony of the Scientific Days on AIDS, the theme of which is “Towards the elimination of AIDS: Integration, Innovation, Impact”. The meeting is being held at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center in Diamniadio (CICAD), reports the Aps.
For Ibrahima Sy, “eliminating AIDS is not limited only to reducing the prevalence of the virus, but to guaranteeing universal access to prevention, screening and treatment”.
According to him, “this ambitious challenge is based on three fundamental principles: Integration, Innovation, Impact”.
The integration of health services, including those linked to HIV/AIDS, is “fundamental” to achieve this objective, as evidenced by the national strategic plan for an integrated multisectoral response against AIDS, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Infections (2023-2030), the development of which mobilized all stakeholders under the coordination of the CNLS, specified the Minister of Health.
