Cascais (Portugal) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, met on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal, with his Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel.

During this meeting, held on the sidelines of the 10th World Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), whose work opened the same day in Cascais (west of Lisbon), the two ministers examined the means to strengthen Moroccan-Portuguese relations in several areas.

On this occasion, Mr. Bourita and Mr. Rangel praised distinguished bilateral relations, both dynamic and avant-garde, insisting on the need to further consolidate them in order to take them to a higher level, in the context of common deadlines. which await the two countries, in particular the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup between Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

The two officials also praised the solidity of cooperative relations between the two countries and the convergence of points of view on several regional and international issues. In this sense, they underlined the importance of maintaining coordination and cooperation between Rabat and Lisbon on issues of common interest at the regional and multilateral levels.

The work of the 10th UNAOC Global Forum continues in Portugal with the participation of the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, the UNAOC High Representative, Miguel Angel Moratinos, the King of Spain Felipe VI and the Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The debates at this international meeting, which also brings together political leaders, representatives of international and regional organizations, religious figures as well as economic and civil society actors, focus on the issues of peace, security and dialogue between cultures and religions, exploring the role of artificial intelligence and sport as levers to promote world peace.
