Friday afternoon, a 25-year-old young man suffering from mental disorders was the victim of rape in the toilets of the Atlantis shopping center in Saint-Herblain near Nantes, reports West France. It was the victim's mother who, worried not to see her son return, found him undressed in a cabin in the company of his attacker who fled.
Alerted, the shopping center security agents quickly arrested the suspect. He is a 36-year-old man, “of Algerian nationality, of no fixed address and in an irregular situation on the national territory”, specified Renaud Gaudeul, public prosecutor of Nantes.

In police custody, the accused admitted the facts, indicating that he had consumed pregabalin, a medication prescribed to treat epilepsy but diverted as a narcotic for its disinhibiting and stimulating effects.
He was indicted for rape aggravated by two aggravating circumstances (vulnerability of the victim and the fact of having acted while drunk and under the influence of narcotics) and placed in pre-trial detention.
