Nathan, a 17-year-old out of school, regularly uses ketamine. “My first use of ketamine was at 14 years oldit was with friends. It was more in a very festive context that I consumed. Rave parties or techno evenings, etc. And then it turned into something on my own, just with a friend at home. And then from time to time, we go for a walk in the forest, we consume,” he says.
“You’ll feel like you’re on cloud nineyou will no longer think, everything that is a problem, you forget. You will be anesthetized, you will have the impression that the ground is literally a soft blanket that you walk on and sink slightly into it,” he continues.
More than one gram per day at 60 euros, the product sometimes attacks his kidneys and the teenager can no longer urinate for almost 24 hours. Addictologist Kitty Deléris warns of the consequences. “We can also have abdominal pain, liver diseases, memory problems. At high doses, you can no longer move. There can also be sexual assault,” she explains. The addictologist calls for better prevention among young people.
