The discontent continues. After recent days marked by farmers' opposition to the proposed free trade treaty between the European Union and Mercosur, and demonstrations all over France, a new protest movement is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26 2024 in Rouen (Seine-Maritime).
Lack of dialogue
Farmers from FNSEA76 and JA76 will meet at 12 p.m. for a mobilization before the water agency, at the Boisguilbert quay.
“Even if some progress has been made, expectations to lift constraints, put an end to European overtranspositions, in short to free the taste for entrepreneurship in agriculture remain high,” indicate the unions in a press release.
Questioned, Simon Huet, of the FNESA, explains that this demonstration is “part of a national movement on the theme of simplification and the lifting of constraints”.
The action will also be an opportunity for the farmers present to express their dissatisfaction towards the water agency. “There is not enough dialogue, consultation,” underlines Simon Huet for his part. Concerning the mobilization, he estimates between 50 and 100 the number of people present at this gathering.
