A container from the port of Montreal ran aground on the banks of the St. Lawrence River over the weekend in Boucherville.

The box intended for the transport of goods fell into the river around 10 p.m. Saturday evening during a transshipment operation, according to information from the port of Montreal.

The large metal box was then carried away by the current before stranding east of the Boucherville rowing club.
