When he got off the plane at the Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca, the Chinese Head of State was welcomed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.
Afterwards, SEM Xi Jinping was greeted by the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouchbefore reviewing a detachment of the Royal Guard which was rendering the honors.
HRH the Crown Prince and the Chinese President were then greeted by the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, governor of the prefecture of Casablanca, Mr. Mohamed Midiathe President of the Council of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mr. Abdellatif Maâzouzthe governor of the Province of Nouaceur, Mr. Jalal Benhayounthe President of the Provincial Council of Nouaceur, Mr. Mohammed Salmani and the President of the Municipality of Nouaceur. Mr. Abdelaziz Radi.
HRH the Crown Prince and HE Xi Jinping were also greeted by Mr. Li Changlin, Ambassador of China to Morocco, Mr. Zhou Zhicheng, Minister Counselor at the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Xia Kelin, Military Attaché at the Embassy of China, and Mr. Zheng Wei, Economic and Commercial Advisor at the Chinese Embassy.
At the entrance to the airport’s lounge of honor, the Chinese Head of State, who is accompanied by a delegation including Mr. Cai Qi, member of the standing committee of the political bureau and director general of the central committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Hua Chunying, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, were invited at the traditional ceremony offering of milk and dates.
After a brief break in the VIP lounge, the official procession headed to the Chinese President’s residence in the Kingdom’s economic capital.
This visit illustrates the depth of the relations of friendship, cooperation and solidarity uniting the two peoples of Morocco and China, thanks to the common will of the Heads of State of the two countries, HM King Mohammed VI and HE Xi Jinping, to move forward to consolidate the Sino-Moroccan strategic partnership sealed on the occasion of the Sovereign’s last visit to China, in May 2016.
