The fight against pandemics remains a major priority for strengthening public health on a global scale, and L’Initiative, in collaboration with Expertise France, is opening its annual calls for projects for the year 2025. Organizations engaged in the fight against HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, and antimicrobial resistance have until January 21, 2025 to submit their applications.
Something new for 2025: a circuit dedicated to project suites
This year, L’Initiative is innovating with a second financing circuit specifically designed for already funded projects wishing to evolve into a new phase (continuation or extension). This circuit aims to encourage the continuity of projects that have already demonstrated their impact, while offering them a process distinct from the new projects in competition.
Discover this innovation in detail in the editorial by Éric Fleutelot, technical director of the Major Pandemics division, and Yasmina Lakmad, coordinator of calls for projects.
Three calls for projects for new commitments:
- Strengthening health systems: priority to human resources in health
The Initiative supports projects that strengthen health systems, with particular attention to human resources. These projects must integrate “One Health” approaches, human rights et gender equality at each stage. - Strengthen the role of key and vulnerable populations
Projects must target populations most exposed to pandemics and in vulnerable situations, taking into account the multivulnerabilityespecially for women and girls. - Strengthen operational research on resistance
These projects aim to support innovative research to improve the preventionthe early diagnosisand the support antimicrobial resistance, a growing threat in the fight against HIV, tuberculosis and malaria.
Two calls for projects for promising sequels:
- Strengthening health systems
Intended for existing projects that have demonstrated their effectiveness and wish to deepen their impact on health human resourceswhile respecting the same key principles: “One Health”, human rights and gender equality. - Strengthen the role of key and vulnerable populations
