Tata – Agreements relating to the development of the agricultural, education, health, sports and local services sectors were signed on Thursday in the commune of Akka (province of Tata), under the chairmanship of the head of government , Aziz Akhannouch.

These agreements concern the fight against fires and the rehabilitation of the Tata oases, the development of local products, the creation of an experimental farm for the development of new alternative crops and territorial development (areas of education and sports, health, drinking water).

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony of these conventions, Mr. Akhannouch, who leads a government delegation, attended the presentation of projects for the sustainable management of oasis ecosystems (PROGREEN), strengthening of irrigation at the oases level, implementation installation of protective structures (diversion thresholds and protective walls), rehabilitation of rural roads and development of tree crops and livestock sectors, as well as the transversal development program of the provincial agricultural directorate 2024-2027.

As part of his field visit to the province of Tata, the head of government attended the presentation of the Ait Ouabelli, Tamanart and Tamanart Assif Nit dam projects in the Ait Ouabelli commune, while launching a local health center in Akka recently upgraded.

On this occasion, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki indicated that the visit of the government delegation aims to learn about the progress of development projects in the province, noting that the delegation led by the head of government visited projects that are part of the Generation Green strategy in the province, which required a budget of one billion dirhams over the last decade.

He also specified that agreements have been signed to open up the area, fight fires, develop water points and promote the products of cooperatives, noting that structuring projects have been launched in the province.

Mr. Sadiki said that a budget of 534 million dirhams has been allocated to these projects within the framework of Generation Green and rural development efforts, estimating that these projects will have a positive impact on the population in terms of improving income, creating job opportunities and overall development of the province.

Speaking on the water aspect, the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka stressed that within the framework of the High Royal Guidelines aimed at finding new water resources, a new dam will be launched soon in the commune of M’salit which will make it possible to mobilize 30 million m3.

These resources will be used mainly to meet the water needs of the province’s douars, strengthen the water table and ensure the sustainability of the oases and drinking water for the population, he said.

The minister also indicated that as part of a partnership with the region, an underground dam will be built in Akka-Issil which will have a major role in the preservation of the oases.

In terms of education, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, said that this visit provided an opportunity to discuss the implementation of pioneer schools in certain provinces including Tata, noting that this new approach allowed students to strengthen their skills, particularly through parallel activities that promote the development of a number of skills.

According to the minister, this result is the result of the mobilization of all components of the education system, particularly educational and administrative staff.

Mr. Benmoussa noted that this visit was also an opportunity to focus on the state of play of the sports infrastructure program in the province, specifying that this program is based around local fields with the government program. which plans more than 45 fields in the next two years and several basic amenities, including swimming pools with a budget of more than 100 million dirhams.

Regarding health, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Aït Taleb indicated that the government delegation visited the provincial hospital center of Tata which made it possible to bring services closer to citizens and to take care of critical cases on site, noting that today, the province has resuscitation and emergency services as well as a laboratory that can meet the needs of citizens in this area.

The provincial hospital center has a computer system that allows to have all the information on patients thanks to the medical file, he added, noting that the local health center of Akka, launched this Thursday after its upgrade, is equipped with general medicine and childbirth services and allows to provide high quality services to a large population, in accordance with the proximity policy promoted by HM King Mohammed VI.

In the cultural field, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid noted that the government strategy gives capital importance to the presence of books, particularly in the rural world, explaining that the launch of the Bibliobus circuit in Tata with a view to its generalization aims to bring culture closer to children and young people in villages and douars that do not have conventional libraries.

The ambition is to enable young people in different regions of the Kingdom to access books to bring culture closer to citizens, he said.
