The sulphurous Israeli businessman, beneficiary of over-the-counter contracts in the construction sector under the old regime, will have to give up his real estate project. The affair raised many questions. In 2022, the Sporting Club site, located by the sea, was awarded to Ron Yeffect under controversial conditions. Worse still, he had encroached on the land of a Senegalese entrepreneur who, despite all his efforts, could only note the impunity enjoyed by the Israeli businessman.
On this site, with an area of 10,000 m², Ron Yeffect planned the construction of luxury apartments with sea views, intended to be sold at high prices. But that was without taking into account the change of regime that occurred on March 24. Indeed, from the first checks relating to dubious land allocations, the new authorities ordered the construction site to be stopped.
A controversial lease being revoked
The lease, obtained under cavalier conditions, is now in the process of being revoked, informs the newspaper Libération in its edition this Wednesday. Ron Yeffect is also linked to the nebula surrounding the acquisition of the “Maison du Sénégal” in New York. As a former honorary consul of Senegal in Tel Aviv, he also won several public contracts, notably for the construction of university buildings, through his company DSC.
Furthermore, the State has launched a vast offensive to recover several real estate properties sold in the form of long leases. Among these properties are: A building located at No. 37 Avenue Pasteur in Dakar, under land title No. 67/DK; Villa No. 6 in the Stèle Mermoz district in Dakar;
A building located in the Fann Résidence district, rue Félix-David Diop.
