Hailing from Port Harcourt, Burna Boy began his career in 2010 and quickly became known for his songs blending afrobeat, dancehall, reggae and pop. He has released several successful albums and singles, such as “Ye”, “On the Low”, “Gbona” or “Last Last”.

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, was born in 1991 in Nigeria. He grew up in a musical family and began writing and recording music at the age of 10. He studied music production in the UK before returning to Nigeria to launch his career.

Burna Boy released his debut album, “LIFE,” in 2013. The album received critical acclaim and earned him numerous African music award nominations. He went on to release several other albums, such as “On a Spaceship” and “Outside”, which achieved international success.

In 2019, Burna Boy released his fourth album, “African Giant,” which received critical acclaim and won numerous awards. This album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Best World Music Album” category.

Burna Boy is considered one of the most influential artists on the current African music scene. He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2020 and has won numerous awards, such as the BET Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards. He is known for his committed texts and his political positions, particularly on issues of social justice and human rights in Africa.

The Mawazine festival, which is in its 19th edition, will continue until June 29 with a rich and varied program. Today, Central Cee and IAMDDB will represent UK Rap on the OLM stage.
