The portfolio of public establishments and enterprises (EEP) in liquidation reached, at the end of 2023, 81 entities, according to the Directorate of Public Enterprises and Privatization (DEPP).
In detail, these are 16 public establishments, 15 public limited companies (SA) with Direct Treasury Participation, 24 SA with indirect majority participation and 26 SA with indirect minority participation, reports the DEPP in its annual report. Public establishments under Territorial Authorities (formerly Transport Authorities, former Water and Electricity Distribution Authorities and others) represent 16% of the said portfolio, or 13 Authorities, specifies the report.
Generally speaking, the pace of progress of liquidation operations differs from one entity to another and depends on a multitude of factors, underlines the same source, adding that several operations have been closed, such as the subsidiaries of the SNDE. Significant progress has also been made with 19 EEPs, representing 23% of the portfolio in liquidation at the end of 2023, including entities such as SODEA and SOGETA with their subsidiaries, as well as certain ONHYM subsidiaries.
