The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, announced in August the reunion of their band, Oasis, for a tour next summer.

This return of the iconic 90s Britpop group has generated immense enthusiasm among its fans. Tickets for the concerts were snapped up and his first album “Definitely Maybe”, released thirty years ago, once again found itself at the top of sales in September.

On Saturday, it was at the auction that this enthusiasm was felt.

The Silver Sparkle Gibson Les Paul Florentine guitar that Noel Gallagher used to record Oasis’ third album, ‘Be Here Now’, released in August 1997, was purchased for £226,800.

According to the online auction house Propstore, this guitar was made for Noel Gallagher in Gibson’s workshop in 1997. It was notably used for performances on the “David Letterman Show” as well as on “Saturday Night Live”. in the United States.

“It’s the best guitar in the world,” Noel Gallagher said in an interview with “Spin” magazine in 1997. “It’s not one of the best, it’s the best.”

Oasis was then at the height of its glory.

But the group, founded in 1991 in Manchester, then separated in 2009, due to recurring arguments between the Gallagher brothers, who continued their careers separately, until the announcement of the reformation of Oasis last summer.
