Salé – Abdeljaouad Belhaj was unanimously re-elected president of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation (FRMB) for a new four-year term, during the Ordinary Elective General Assembly for the 2023-2024 season, held on Saturday in Sale.

Mr. Belhaj, elected head of the FRMB for the first time in 2002, was the only candidate for his own succession after the presentation of a single list.

During this AGM, the moral and financial reports for the 2023-2024 season were unanimously adopted.

The moral report reviewed the partnership agreements concluded between the Federation and the regional councils of the Kingdom, as an illustration of the common desire to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the various stakeholders including local authorities and elected councils, in the perspective of participation in international events which honor the colors of Morocco and the development of national boxing in the different regions of the country.

According to the report, these conventions, which also concern the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, relate to technical supervision in boxing gyms, training of executives, the organization of regional and national events, access for young people to sports practice and the strengthening of their sporting abilities, as well as the practice of boxing following an educational and scientific program capable of strengthening the skills of practitioners in youth centers and socio-sports centers of proximity relating to the youth sector.

The document also notes the signing of the contract of objectives, concluded between the FRMB and the regional leagues, under which it was agreed to realize several objectives and commitments to promote the noble art in the regions.

Furthermore, the report sheds light on the participation of the women’s and men’s national teams in the various competitions for the 2023-2024 season, including in particular the African Olympic qualifying tournament, the Arab championship in Cairo, the 1st world qualifying tournament for Olympic Games, the African Games in Ghana and the Olympic Games in .

As for the financial report, it shows a budget surplus of 2,735,000 dirhams.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Belhaj expressed his thanks to all sports associations for the trust placed in him, assuring that the new federal office will spare no effort to promote national boxing at the regional level. , continental and international.

He added that among the projects of the new federal office are technical and administrative training (referees and coaches), as well as the organization by Morocco of national and international competitions.

The FRMB also held, on this occasion, its Ordinary General Assembly for the 2022-2023 season during which the moral and financial reports were unanimously adopted.
