Maroc Hebdo once again victim of a cyberattack attributed to Algeria

Maroc Hebdo is once again the victim of a massive attack, we learned from the editorial staff of the Moroccan media.

According to initial information obtained from our colleagues, this attack was orchestrated from Algeria. This attack comes shortly after the publication of a front page by Maroc Hebdo, in which the media claims that Algeria has deployed its military forces on the Moroccan border in preparation for a potential conflict with the Kingdom.

“Just after the publication of the issue of the weekly Maroc Hebdo on Friday, November 15, the cover of which was devoted to the war that Algeria plans to wage against Morocco, the magazine’s website suffered a cyberattack of the type DDoS,” we are told.

This attack echoes a previous incident in 2023, when the Maroc Hebdo site was targeted by a similar cyberattack. At the time, the intrusion was also attributed to actors linked to Algeria.

The technical teams are working to restore the situation as quickly as possible and to guarantee the security of the site’s data and its users.
