The Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr opens a new chapter by breathing new life into this historic place anchored in the memory of the Rbatis. The building occupied by the hotel once bore the name of Kasr Al Bahr which was none other than the summer residence of the Sultan Moulay Slimane in the 18th century.
In 1912, the site was converted into hospitallater bearing the name of Marie Feuilletin homage to a nurse from the French Red Cross with exemplary dedication. A heroic figure, she marked the history of Moroccan medicine by making this hospital a model of care, where medical excellence and humanism coexisted. Affectionately nicknamed “Marifilly” by regulars, the establishment was a pillar of the health system at the time, as well as a école trainer for many interns, before closing its doors in 1999, after almost a century of activity.
It is in this place steeped in history that Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr comes to embody the luxe and theMoroccan hospitality. The renovation took up the challenge of preserving the soul of the place by brilliantly retaining the neo-Moorish style while integrating contemporary touches. Thus, during the rehabilitation of the premises, certain buildings were demolished then rebuilt identically, while three others were restored while preserving period elements. “At Four Seasons, we are always inspired by the destination around us to create new experiences for our guests, especially when we have the opportunity to revive the walls of a building with such history,” said Rainer Stampfergeneral manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr.
