PFAS: Where are the health ministers?

PFAS: Where are the health ministers?
PFAS: Where are the health ministers?

We must also admit that we have not heard much, if at all, from the Walloon Minister of Health, Christie Morreale (PS), nor her federal counterpart, Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit), as if it were purely and simply a problem linked to the environment. It is obvious that in this story the entire Walloon government has never supported Céline Tellier in a frank and determined manner, at least in public. Could we not expect collective management of this serious public health problem?

The inhabitants of Chièvres and Ronquière will know this week the level of Pfas they have in their blood

From now on, it is general practitioners who will have to try to allay the fears of those who will be confronted with high levels of PFAS in their blood. They are the ones who will have to endure the anger and perhaps sometimes hatred of those who have trusted a public service that they pay to have drinking water.

It remains to be hoped that the two political parties most angry with Céline Tellier in this affair and who are currently negotiating to set up a new Walloon government will show themselves responsible in relation to the consequences of this affair. The opposite would reinforce the idea that this controversy had, for some, only electoral aims.
