The motorist will not wait long to take revenge. Twice he braked on the wet road and finally blocked the van. He gets out of his car and comes into contact with the other driver, who remains behind the wheel. He gives him “two slaps” before leaving as if nothing had happened.

The scene, which will last fifty seconds, was filmed and shown during the Nivelles correctional hearing on September 27. We see that the motorist is trying to enter the van. He doesn’t succeed. He hit the other driver twice and then slammed the door. There is no way for the motorist to deny it. “The anger was growing, I slapped him twice.”

The victim will claim moral and material damage of €2,000.
The prosecution will highlight the defendant’s desire to go into confrontation, but without the aggravating circumstance of premeditation envisaged by the van driver’s lawyer. He will require an independent probation sentence of two years with, as a condition, taking training in aggression management.
This is what the court decided, which also sentenced the defendant to a fine of €4,500, half of which was suspended.
