VIA Rail service was interrupted Thursday due to the train derailment that took place in Longueuil.

The railway company indicated in a publication on Twitter that “rail traffic is interrupted between Montreal and Quebec […] due to the derailment of a freight train.
Trains 22, 24, 29 and 37 have been canceled, VIA Rail said.
“We are communicating with impacted passengers who will receive a full refund as well as a travel credit,” the carrier added.
Trains number 15 (Halifax-Montreal), 33 (Quebec-Ottawa) and 35 (Quebec-Ottawa) were stopped and buses were ordered to allow passengers to reach their destination.
Customers who had departures scheduled for Thursday are advised to monitor the carrier’s latest updates.
Remember that a hydrogen peroxide spill occurred along Route 116, which caused its closure.
A lockdown notice has been issued to allow authorities to do their work.
