Sarah Schlitz, Green MP in the Federal Parliament, was the guest at 7:50 a.m. on bel RTL this Thursday morning. She answered questions from Martin Buxant and notably returned to the defeat of her party, and of the left more generally, during the last elections.
Throughout the electoral campaign, Sarah Schlitz said she heard a lot of concrete concerns from citizens about making ends meet. “There is real social distress”, she notes on our antenna. And for her, the left-wing parties have not responded well enough to citizens’ expectations.
“Those who have best succeeded in convincing citizens with their solutions are the right. The entire left must question itself in relation to the way in which it manages to convince the solutions it proposes precisely to improve the ends of months”said the former Secretary of State for Equal Opportunities and Gender.
But even if Ecolo is in great difficulty during the last elections, the party will not change its project to position itself more to the center or to the right. “Our project is deeply social and ecological, so we are not going to transform our project. That is not the objective”she concludes.
